Best Methods For Training Your Dog

By Tony Jallit

For most instances, a person will usually do what is the right way in their opinion to train a dog to be obedient rather than taking advice and suggestions from others. This does not imply that there are not other methods of dog training available. However using your own methods you get the same outcome 9 times out of ten.

You see, my dog Cobra had a major problem with barking when he saw people, chewing on non dog toys, snapping. He also had some other common dog behavior problems. His barking was probably the worst of them all. He would bark at anything that passed by the window people, other dogs, cats, squirrels, birds you name it! One of my friends said that I should get a shock collar for Cobra, but I didn't want to subject my dog to that kind of punishment. What's the point in have a dog if your going to treat him it like that.

Nobody wanted to come to my home any more because my dog Cobra was so rambunctious and impossible to handle. I found a program online that worked for Cobra, I had tried training books and was almost ready to enroll him in obedience school.

I've been really pleased with a wonderful book called "Secrets to Dog Training". The methods and the quality of the methods in the book were very impressive. Just like a professional training, I was training my dog using the latest techniques. It took me no time to learn the tricks of the trade.

My dog now obeys me both at home and in public. It will very easy for my to follow these techniques by using plenty of photos. You can also view some videos on the subject. Where other advise and guides are proved as failures this online software worked wonderfully. Basically if you are have any kind of behavioral problems with you dog this online guide most likely has the answer for you.

Ask yourself, what's causing these issues for your dog? Is this too aggressive? Misbehaving? The breed of dog or the specific problem your dog has doesn't matter. You don't need to spend all that money on a professional dog trainer because you will learn all of their secrets. Don't pay a trainer! These methods will help you train your dog yourself.

This software gives you all the information besides the dog and puppy training techniques, that also made me impressed. Their classes are aimed at improving your puppy's overall condition as well as his obedience. You and your dog will be fun when teaching the basic tricks like rolling over, crawling, shake hands, etc. You should know about the medical conditions specific to your breed and the requirements of a qualified vet. To make your dog healthier you can use plus homemade recipes.

No need to buy a bunch of separate books you get every thing dog related here. This review can not possibly give you all of the several benefits that are in the e-book but after checking out other books, I found this product book to be the best and I completely 100% recommend it. Get Rid Of Dog Fleas with Natural Flea Remedies

By Megan Smith

All natural flea remedies would not be needed if pet owners would just use some all natural flea control techniques. Fleas are a headache. The best way to deal with fleas is to prevent fleas. The best way to prevent fleas is to use natural flea control methods. People are always looking for natural healthy ways to treat fleas.

Flea prevention using all natural methods is cheap and easy. Some people use a citrus repellent which is clearly derived from the potent mosquito effects of citronella. To create a such a repellant for your pet, cut up a lemon and place in a pot. Cover the lemon pieces with boiling water and let them soak for 10 hours. After they have soaked, transfer the lemony liquid into a spritzer bottle. You now have dog friendly all natural flea repellent. Spray your dog or cat all over remembering to pay special attention to behind the ears, around the base of his tail and under your dogs "armpits". Be careful of your pet's eyes when spraying as citrus can sting.

I have heard of other dog owners using an aromatherapy repellant. Admittedly, these ingredients can be expensive and less easy to find but this repellant really does work. By using 10 ml. of sweet almond oil as your base combine 6 drops of cedar wood essence and 12 drops of lavender essence. Shake the mixture generously and rub a few drops over the skin of your dog, especially around dog's neck and base of his tail. Repeat this treatment as needed or every 2 days.

Lastly, a natural flea collar can be created by rubbing a few drops of eucalyptus oil, Tea Tree Oil, citronella, lavender or geranium essence on to your pet's ordinary rope or webbing collar or even his or her bandanna. Re-apply the oil or essence as needed or at least every week.

Another very simple and common sense suggestion is to reduce your dog's overall exposure to fleas. You can begin by reducing the dog fleas immediately outside of your home. One method to reduce fleas outside is to install a Purple Martin bird house. Purple Martins like to dine on dog fleas, thus controlling the outdoor flea population. A failure to deal with these fleas will result in your pet continually getting infested.

Fleas can be a serious dog health problem. The best flea remedy is to use an all natural flea control methods. Remember, fleas make your treasured pet very uncomfortable and they are no fun for the dog owner's family either. The best cure for anything is an ounce of prevention, and this goes double for flea remedies.

How to do Dog Potty Training

By Paul J James

Regardless of how cute your puppy is when you bring him home, resist the temptation to delay dog potty training until later. Even very young puppies can be potty trained successfully.

A Crate

A puppy crate is a very helpful tool for dog potty training. A crate gives your dog his own "space" that he won't want to soil particularly at night. Be sure he given plenty of opportunity and encouragement to go potty before he's crated.

Choose The Right Food

You may be tempted to buy cheap dog food, but you will most likely regret it in the end. Cheap dog foods are full of fillers. Since the fillers can't be digested and processed into fuel, they pass through your dog's digestive system causing gas and creating large amounts of stool. Higher quality dog foods do not have as much filler so your dog passes much smaller stools

A Standard Schedule

Establishing a schedule for your puppy from the beginning will go a long way toward potty training him. Feeding should be done at the same times every day followed by taking him outside to relieve himself about 15-20 minutes after he eats. He should also be given the opportunity to go outside after naps and immediately upon being removed from his crate in the morning.

Communicating

Establish words that your dog can learn to associate with relieving himself. Use that word consistently to avoid confusing him. It's also important to learn your dog's signals that he needs to go outside; restlessness, sniffing around (especially in places he may have had an accident at some point) or going to the door can all be signals that your dog needs to go.

Constant Reinforcement

When your puppy does well, praise him. Using the word he's come to associate with elimination, "good boy to go potty outside" will help him strengthen the connection between going potty and being praised.

Successful dog potty training requires patience and persistence but the pay off is well worth the effort. Well mannered dogs are a joy both to their owners and those around them.

What Ingredients Are Used in Commercial Dog Food

By Lazaro Del Sol

The Association Of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) regulate and set standards for the pet food industry. AAFCO runs tests on the ingredients used in the preparation of pet food to assure that they meet certain nutritional guidelines. These guidelines have a rather wide range of acceptability due to the number of different qualities of pet foods. Therefore, having the AAFCO stamp of approval on a dog food label does not necessarily mean the food is good for our dogs.

How then are we as consumers going to know what is the best dog food to serve our pets? Dog food labels provide us with much information. Some of it can be misleading. So if we want to feed our dogs with a nutritious meal, it is important for us to gain some knowledge in how to read and interpret what a label is really telling us.

Because of the constant exposure to the marketing tactics of pet food manufacturers, many of us have are loyal to a certain dog food brand or product name. We have been led to believe that this brand has high quality food products. The first rule to remember when reading a label is that if the product label mentions an ingredient such as "beef chow" for example, then that product must contain 95% of that ingredient by weight if the product is a dry product and 70% if it is a wet or canned product. If the label includes words such as "dinner" or "formula" then only 25% of that ingredient is required.

Pet food labels list their ingredients by weight. Ingredients weighing the most are listed first. Taking the above example into consideration, a "dinner" labeled product will only contain 1/4 of the mentioned product. So even though the ingredient is part of the labeled product name it is not necessarily the main ingredient. Corn or bone meal is more than likely the main ingredient. Both these ingredients can be found in cheap discounted or generic brands.

In many cases the main ingredient is not mentioned in the title. Instead we see such words as "flavored" as in "chicken flavored." There is no set required percentage for these items. We will also see the words like "Premium" or "Natural" on the labels. Premium dog food is a worthwhile product to checkout. Most premium products do follow the AAFCO standards for a nutritionally balanced dog food product. "Natural" just means that there are no artificial ingredients such as colors, preservatives and flavors in the product.

A sure fire way to find the best dog food products when reading the list of ingredients is to find the first fat ingredient such as "chicken fat." All the ingredients before the fat source are the main part of that food product. The fewer the ingredients the better. All the other items on the list are used for flavoring or preserving the product. By finding where the fat source is listed we can then find ingredients that maybe harmful to our dogs such as corn gluten.

If we are feeding our dogs a commercial dog food brand, then the most important thing that we can do as a dog owner is to learn to read dog food labels. When reading through the list of ingredients if we come across an item that doesn't sound like something we would like to eat, then we should think twice about feeding it to our dogs. Let us take a little extra time to learn what we are really feeding our dogs.

What To Know About Rare Mink Ragdoll Kittens

By Julie Jones

Many people want to own a cat that will cuddle around their feet and warm their laps, a real forever companion. When choosing any pet, it's best to do some research first. Looking into cat breeds and their characteristics, one can easily see why one of the most sought after pets is the rare mink Ragdoll kittens.

Ragdoll cats were created and defined as a breed in the sixties by Ann Baker. She took several different cat breeds, including the Persian, Burmese and Birman or 'Sacred' cats and combined them for their best traits. What she ended up with was the precursor to the modern day ragdoll. The ragdoll has many characteristics that set it apart from similar breeds. And any kitten in a ragdoll breed may be one of the rare mink ragdoll kittens.

Ragdoll cats come in a few different varieties. There are solid or pointed breeds called traditional. And there are non-traditional breeds such as non-pointed or mink ragdolls. The way to tell one of the rare mink ragdoll kittens from the rest of a litter is the colour. Ragdolls are normally born white and mature into their colours or patterns. Mink kittens have their colour at birth.

Traditional ragdoll patterns can be very diverse. Colour point ragdolls will have no white on them whatsoever. The 'point' refers to points of their features like ears and nose, paws and tail, that will show the colour that the cat is, while the rest of the body is a lighter shade. Mitted cats will have white paws and boots with the rest of their legs being black. They will also have a white chin and 'bib' or front chest area. Bi-colour patterned kittens, whether rare mink ragdoll kittens or pure traditional ragdoll, will have an inverted V on their faces with white legs, chins and bibs.

Kittens in the ragdoll family are all born with one of the traditional colours. They can be chocolate or seal point but they can also have other more interesting colours. Ragdolls both traditional and rare can be 'blue' which means they are a shade of grey, or lilac which is a pale shade of rose-beige. Cream colours are common as well with rare mink ragdoll kittens, and are a light orangey beige. A warmer or hotter colour of cream is called 'flame'.

The truly significant thing that sets rare mink ragdoll kittens out from other ragdoll types and breeds are the eyes. Traditional ragdoll kittens will have blue eyes, sometimes looking grey or dark grey. Mink kittens will have aqua eyes, varying shades of blue-green or green-blue. Solid ragdoll kittens can have green, copper, blue, blue green or even mismatched eyes.

Ragdoll cats are called 'ragdoll' for apparently two reasons. One is their colouring, which is reminiscent of the ragdolls of old that little girls cuddled up to. Another reason is their demeanor. Ragdolls, whether they are the rare mink ragdoll kittens or the solids or smokes or traditional, are all incredibly loveable cats. They are very social and don't like to be left alone when young. These are very docile cats that also happen to be very floppy.

It is always a good idea to research any breed of the type of pet you are looking at getting. Dogs or cats, puppies or kittens, it's important to make a choice that suits your personality and style. The rare mink ragdoll kittens are ideal for many calmer types of people, while say, a Siamese litter might suit someone else with more energy. Ragdolls are increasing in popularity and its easy to see why.

3 Tips to Remove Cat Urine Smell

By Mike Beauford

A cat's urine odor is really horrible and unpleasant to say the least but how do you remove it efficiently? It's really frustrating when your cat will go back and urinate on the same area after you've cleaned it. The reason for that is they like to pee on the same spot if they can still smell some of their urine. So remember next time to put some extra effort into making sure the urinated area is cleaned out.

Simple Methods to Remove Cat Urine Smell

Bring out your paper towels and put pressure in the area where your cat urinated. Make sure to use the towels to dry up the area and use enough towels if necessary just to remove the moisture from the carpet. Once you're sure that the urine is out then can remove any excess leftovers on the affected area.

Get your plastic spray bottle and pour in some water and white vinegar solution. This will help balance out the smell that might still be in the carpet. Don't worry because this is very easy to do but there's a little effort involved after you've sprayed to make sure the carpet is dry. Remember that cats love to go back and urinate on the same spot when they smell their urine. This step will prevent it.

Use a crystalline powder and scatter it in the carpet after it's all dried up. This will help you to remove cat urine odor that are still left in the area. The goal is to make sure that your cat cannot anymore smell their urine so they would stop urinating in the same area. Male cats are prone to do this because they like to mark their territories.

These are the steps you need to remember when you want to get rid of cat urine smell in your carpet. Clean the area as fast and efficiently as you can before your cat urinates in your carpet again. This will make it really hard to remove the smell when their urine gets deeper inside the carpet.
